Nicole Gurr earned first team All-NEWMAC honors for the fourth straight season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/11/08)--Coast Guard Academy senior Nicole Gurr was named to the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-conference first team for the fourth straight season in voting by the league's ten head coaches.

Gurr, the Bears’ all-time leader with 1,815 kills, also earned an invitation to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic which will be held at Wellesley College on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

During her brilliant career, Gurr earned several accolades including second-team All-America honors as a sophomore and honorable mention All-America honors last season. She is also a three-time All-New England selection.

Gurr, who led the team this season with 394 kills and 65 aces and was second with 94 blocks, finished her career with 237 aces which is third on the Bears’ all-time list and 300 career blocks which ranks her fourth in school history.

Coast Guard was a perfect 13-0 at home this season, but the Bears finished the year 14-16 overall.
