James Toohey was one of three Coast Guard players named to the All-conference team.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/11/08)--Coast Guard placed three players on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's soccer All-conference team voted on by league's seven head coaches.

Senior midfielder David O'Brien was named to the first team for the second straight season. O'Brien had five goals and one assist.

Senior forward Peter Deneen and senior defender James Toohey were both named to the second team.

Deneen, a second team selecton last season has five goals this season, three of them were game winners, to go with four assists.

Toohey, who was also a second team selection last season, was the backbone of the Bears' defense. He also had one goal and two assists.

Coast Guard, which lost to eventual NEWMAC tournament champion Babson 2-1 in the tournament semifinals on Saturday, is 10-8-1 overall and was selected as the third-seed in the ECAC New England Division III tournament. The Bears will host sixth-seeded St. Joseph’s of Maine on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in a first round game. The game can be heard live at www.sportsjuice.com.
