Michael Carman was one of nine swimmers to win an event as the Bears beat New Paltz
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/8/08)--Seniors Jack Sauve and Jim Okorn along with freshman Johnson Knox each won an event and were part of the winning 200 medley relay team leading Coast Guard to a 143-113 win over SUNY-New Paltz in the first dual meet of the season.
Sauve won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.89), Okorn captured the 50 freestyle (22.13) while Knox won the 100 freestyle (48.32).
Senior Ryan Taylor teamed with Sauve, Okorn and Knox to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.27.
Other winners for the Bears were: sophomore Alex Brown in the 1,000 freestyle (10:10.43), freshman Bryan Andrews in the 200 freestyle (1:48.96), freshman Evin Moses in the 200 butterfly (2:03.96), junior Timmy Berry in the 200 backstroke (2:00.95), sophomore Michael Carman in the 200 breaststroke (2:11.31) and freshman Brian McGuiness in the 500 freestyle (4:57.90).
