Tessa Knott was one of of two runners on the women's team named to the NEWMAC All-Academic team.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/7/08)--Coast Guard placed eight student-athletes on the 2008 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Academic cross country teams.

The Bears placed six men on the team and two women.

Senior Gwen English (Operations Research/Computer Analysis) and junior Tessa Knott (Mechanical Engineering) were honored from the women’s team.

Seniors Mike Persun (Marine and Enviromental Sciences), Mike Haas (Mechanical Engineering) and Kyle Richter (Civil Engineering), juniors Adam Stanek (Management) and Matt Eyler (Electrical Engineering) along with sophomore Karl Alejandre (Government) were named from the men’s team.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2008 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at his or her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
