SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--(11/1/08)--Coast Guard placed second of the five teams at the season opening Union Relays. Host Union won with 136 points while Bears totaled 100 points.
The Bears won the 500 freestyle crescendo relay as the team of Emily Zalewski, Heidi Gayman, Sarah-Jane Otey and Kim Shadwick posted a winning time of 4:50.33.
Those four teamed up once again, this time in a different order, as Coast Guard also won the 400 freestyle relay with the order being Gayman, Otey, Zalewski and Shadwick with a time of 3:44.19.
Also for the Bears, Alysa Marquinez won the one-meter diving with a score of 280.90.
