Senior Peter Deneen scored the game winner in overtime for the second straight time as the Bears remained a perfect 6-0 at home this season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/8/08)--Senior Peter Deneen scored two goals including the game winner with 2:47 left in the first overtime giving Coast Guard a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Wesleyan in a non-conference game.

It was Deneen’s second consecutive game winning goal in overtime as he scored with 3:21 left in double overtime in a 4-3 win over #15 Wheaton on Friday night.

Deneen gave Coast Guard the early lead as he scored just 1:51 into the game with sophomore Frank Hackett assisting.

Wesleyan (3-4-1) tied the match in the 29th minute with a goal from sophomore Geoff Zartarian from junior Jory Kahan.

The Cardinals took the lead 2-1 just over three minute later when junior Keisuke Yamashita scored off a rebound with 13:20 left in the first half.

Coast Guard (7-4) rallied late as junior Jacob Larsen tied the match with just 7:30 left in regulation off a free kick with senior James Toohey assisting.

Sophomore Chris Tarbell started in goal for the Bears and made five first half saves before junior Tim Olah took over to start the second half. Olah made three saves and picked up the win.

Sophomore Nigel Stacey made two saves for Wesleyan which outshot Coast Guard 20-9.

With the win, Coast Guard snapped a three-game losing streak against Wesleyan and the Bears remain unbeaten at home this season with their sixth straight victory.
