Men's Cross Country - Persun Selected NEWMAC Runner of the Week
Mike Persun earned NEWMAC Runner of the Week honors with his eighth place finish.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/22/08)--Senior Mike Persun, who placed eighth at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, has been named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Persun finished with a time of 25:18 and was one of three Coast Guard runners to place in the top 21 as the Bears placed second of the 28 teams.
Coast Guard had opened the season with a win at the Smith Invitational last week when Persun won the race with a time of 16:32.82. The Bears took the top seven spots in that race.
