Women's Crew - Adriana Knies Named First Team All-American
Adriana Knies was named a first-team All-American by the CRCA.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(5/28/08)--Coast Guard Academy senior Adriana Knies has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA)/Pocock Division III All-America first eight.
Knies, a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first team selection, and the Bears won the NEWMAC Championship for the second straight season and will compete in the NCAA Division III Women’s Rowing Championships which will be held Friday and Saturday at Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, California.
The Bears are competing at the NCAA Championships for the second straight season and fifth time in the last six years.
In 2003, the Bears Varsity Eight captured the bronze and the team brought home the NCAA 4th place finish team trophy. In 2004 and 2005 the Bears finished 5th and 8th respectively. Last season the Varsity Eight also placed eighth.
