 Bobby Brown was named to the Academic All-district first team by CoSIDA. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(5/26/08)--Bobby Brown, who graduated from the Coast Guard Academy last week, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I men's at-large team first team as
voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Brown, a seven-time All-America in swimming, earned All-America status in two events, the 200 and 1,650 freestyle this season. He was also named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC)Swimmer of the Year.
Brown, who had a 3.51 GPA as a Mechanical Engineering major. He was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and had earned the Gold Star for Academics and been named to the Dean's List six times. He alsoearned the Silver Star for Military Excellence.
He will now be placed on the national ballot with a chance to earn Academic All-America honors.
District I consists of New England, New York, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. |
