Carl Luxhoj continued his outstanding freshman season with a pair of All-New England honors.
HANOVER, N.H.--(5/10/08)--Freshman Carl Luxhoj set a personal best for the second straight week in the long jump and he earned All-New England honors in both the long jump and triple jump at the All-New England Championships at the University of New Hampshire. The meet consisted of athletes from Divisions I, II and III.

Luxhoj leaped 22 feet, 8.5 inches to place sixth in the long jump, after jumping a then career-best 22-7.75 last week at the New England Division III Championship.

The freshman then placed eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 46 feet, 0.5 inches.

Senior Chris Hunt was the top Coast Guard finisher as he placed third in the hammer with a career-best throw of 178 feet, eight inches besting his mark of 177-3 from last week.

Senior Steve Blum, the defending All-New England Decathlon champion, did not compete in the event, after winning the Division III Decathlon championship for the third straight season last week. Blum did however earn All-New England honors this weekend in the javelin with a toss of 179 feet, 10 inches, good for eighth place.

Coast Guard had 11 total points to tie for 23rd place of the 38 teams.
