Women's Track - Lee Sets Record and Earns Pair of All-NE Honors
JoEllen Arons earned a pair of All-New England honors in her final N.E. Championship.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(5/3/08)--Junior Chanel Lee earned All-New England honors in both the 100 meters and the 100 meter hurdles as the Bears placed 13th of the 28 teams at the New England Division III Track and Field Championships hosted by the Coast Guard Academy.
Lee broke her own school record for the second time this year with a time of 15.47 to place fourth in the 100 meter hurdles while she also placed third in the 100 meters with a time of 12.75.
Freshman Anne Jefferson placed fourth in the discus (121-11) to earn All-New England honors.
Also for the Bears, senior JoEllen Arons earned All-New England honors with a sixth place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:42.59) while senior Victoria Stevens placed seventh in the shot put (37-6.75).
The Bears 4x400 meter relay team of junior Dana Tomc, junior Tara Sutcliffe, freshman Alaina Kiskaddon and Arons earned All-New England honors with an eighth place finish with a time of 4:12.04.
Williams won for the ninth straight season. The Ephs finished with 11 points while Amherst was second with 81 points. Coast Guard had 22 points.
