HARTFORD, CONN.--(4/14/08)--Sophomore Jeremiah Bayer struck out 11 batters and allowed just two hits and sophomore Kent Graham knocked in four runs with a double and a homerun to keep the Trinity College Bantams undefeated with a 10-2 win over Coast Guard. Trinity, ranked No. 7 in the nation, improves to 24-0 while Coast Guard falls to 6-16.
Junior Sean Killeen also went deep for the Bantams while junior Ryan Piacentini and sophomore Matt Sullivan finished with two hits apiece. Bayer went seven innings allowing no earned runs and Derek Anderson and senior Jon Rappapport closed out the final two innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. The Bantam pitchers finished the game with 14 strikeouts to just two walks.
Seniors Christian George and Kevin Higgins along with junior Bill Birch collected a hit for the Bears.
Will Becker took the loss for Coast Guard. He went 6 1/3 innings and allowed 10 hits, nine runs, eight earned.
