KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(4/16/12)---Coast Guard went back on the road to Kings Point, NY to play the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in a regional non-conference contest. The Bears had too much fire power for the Mariners; they won the dual match 9-0.

The closest doubles match came at #3 with juniors Joe Sullivan-Springhetti and Erik Oredson pairing to win over freshmen Mo Kawatachi and Derek Acuno, 9-7.

It was Sullivan-Springhetti and Oredson again in the closest singles matches. Sullivan-Springhetti won at #5 over Kawatachi, 6-4, 7-6(2). Oredson was the winner at #6 over Acuno, 4-6, 7-6(6), 10-8.

Blake Maurer won at #4 singles and #2 doubles for the Bears.

NORTON, MASS.--(4/14/12)--Coast Guard cruised to an 8-1 win over Wheaton in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

Coast Guard improves to 8-3 overall and remains perfect in conference play, improving to 3-0 in the NEWMAC.

The Bears won all six singles matches as Greg Mitchell won at #1, Josh Fischer at #2, Nick Martin at #3, Blake Maurer at #4, all winning in straight sets.

John Lightner at #5 singles and Andrew Bryson at #6 singles both won in three sets.

Men's Tennis - Bears Win Streak Snapped

WALTHAM, MASS.--(4/12/12)--Coast Guard saw its three match winning streak come to an end with an 8-1 loss at #24 Brandeis in a match moved indoors due to rain. Coast Guard drops to 7-3 on the season. Seniors Greg Mitchell and Nick Martin got the only point for the Bears with an 8-5 win at #1 doubles.

Men's Tennis - Martin/Mitchell Named Doubles team of Week

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/9/12)--Senior captains Nick Martin and Greg Mitchell were named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis Doubles team of the Week.

The duo won twice at #1 doubles for the Bears beating Ramone Doyley & Mitchell Henry from Babson 8-4 before earning an 8-5 win over Kyle Mersereau and Ben Burnap from Springfield.

Martin and Mitchell are 6-1 as a doubles teams this season while Coast Guard is 7-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
