United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(5/5/07)--Coast Guard had four athletes earn All-New England honors at the Division III New England Championships at Springfield College.

The Bears finished 15th as a team as Caitlin Quinn earned All-New England honors in the 3,000 steeplechase (4th, 11:37.82), Chanel Lee in the 100 (4th, 12.77), Anne Jefferson in the discus (4th, 122-4) and Aidan VanCleef in the 10,000 (6th, 38:59.66).

Women's Track - Quinn Wins NEWMAC Steeplechase Championship

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/28/07)--Caitlin Quinn won the 3,000 meter steeplechase and Anne Jefferson placed second in the discus, both earning All-conference honors as host Coast Guard placed sixth at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Track and Field Championship.

MIT won the NEWMAC championship with 215.5 points, Coast Guard had 59 just behind fifth place Mount Holyoke's 60 points.

Quinn won the steeplechase with a time of 11:29.67 while Jefferson had a discus toss of 121 feet, five inches.

Women's Track - Bears Win Silfen Invitational

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/21/07)--Coast Guard won the Silfen Invitational at Conn College, finishing with 142.5 points to easily beat UMass-Dartmouth which finished second with 107 points. There were 16 schools at the meet.

Dana Tomc (400 meters, 1:01.97), Tessa Knott (1,500, 4:57.11), Caitlin Quinn (5,000, 18:56.13) and Aidan Van Cleef (10,000, 39:33.37) all won events for Coast Guard, with Tomc, Knott and Quinn qualifying for the Division III New England meet and Van Cleef qualifying for the All-Division New Englands.

Second-place finishers were Tomc (200), Bryce Van Cleef (5,000), Chanel Lee (100 hurdles), Beth Stevick (pole vault) and Anne Jefferson (discus).

Women's Track - McCarron Wins 800 Meters as Bears Place Third

Jayna McCarron won the 800 meters and was second in the 1,500 meters.

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/14/07)--Jayna McCarron won the 800 meters (2:25.83) and was second in the 1,500 meters (4:50.02) as Coast Guard placed third of four teams in the Bears second home meet at the new track and field complex.

Chanel Lee won the 100 meter hurdles (15.72), Anne Jefferson won the discus (125-10), Caitlin Quinn won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:46) and Beth Stevick won the pole vault (8-3.25) for the Bears.
