NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/14/12)--Freshman Beth Gollin won the 1,500 meters (4:54.02) and took second in the 800 meters (2:26.01) while sophomore Emily Trudeau won the shot put (37-1.75) and was second in the discus (112-01) to lead the Bears in a home meet with Springfield and WPI.

Springfield won with 148 points, WPI was second with 144 while Coast Guard finished with 94 points.

Also for the Bears, Elizabeth Flint won the triple jump (35-0.25) and Kyle Sutschek won the discus with a toss of 112 feet, eight inches.

Katie Schumacher took second in the 10,000 meters.

DARTMOUTH, MASS.--(4/7/12)--Coast Guard won four events leading the Bears to a third place finish at the Corsair Classic at UMass Dartmouth.

Junior Gina Caylor won the pole vault (9-0), freshman Beth Gollin won the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:31.74), freshman Kendall Auth won the 5,000 meters (20:00.25) and sophomore Moira McNeil won the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:48.44.

Senior Katie Schumacher was second in the 10,000 meters with a time of 41:57.74 while freshman Kyle Sutschek placed third in the discus with a throw of 121 feet, three inches.

The Bears finished with 107 points while Roger Williams won with 138.83 points and host UMass Dartmouth was second of the 11 teams with 138.33 points.

Beth Gollin was the top Coast Guard finisher

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/31/12)--Beth Gollin placed first in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:58.05 to lead the Bears to a second place team finish.

Other top finishers included a second place effort by Emily Trudeau in the shot put who threw 11.06 meters (36’ 3.5”). Gina Caylor cleared 2.75 meters (9’.25”) on her way to a second place finish in the pole vault. Kyle Sutschek finished third in the discus with a toss of 32.96 meters (108’ 02”).

The 4x400meter team of Sarah Hohenberger, Gollin, Elizabeth Baumsteiger, and Abigail Bishop placed second with a time of 4:21.40.

Westfield State won the meet with 129.5 points while Coast Guard was second with 87 points.

Women's Outdoor Track - Bears Take 8th at Westfield Invite

Emily Trudeau was second in the shot put.

WESTFIELD, MASS.--(3/24/12)--Emily Trudeau was the top Coast Guard finisher as she placed second in the shot put as the Bears placed eighth at the season opening Westfield State Invitational.

Trudeau had a throw of 36 feet, 6.75 inches. She also had a career-best throw of 121 feet, one inch in the hammer to place eighth.

Also for the Bears, Kyle Sutchek was fourth in the discus (116-6), Gina Caylor was fourth in the pole vault (9-6.25) and Beth Gollin was fourth in the 1,500 meters in 4:54.42.

Hannah Seeland was seventh in the hammer (123-5), Moira McNeil was seventh in the 5K in 19:45.44, Brandy Lowary was seventh in the high jump (4-9) and Abby Bishop took seventh in the 100 hurdles (16.57).

The Bears 4x400 ran of Sarah Hohenberger, Anne Schneider, Elizabeth Baumsteiger, and Rachel Deschene ran 4:28.66.
