 Jason Erickson won the 800 meters and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team. WORCESTER, MASS.--(4/11/08)--Jason Erickson won the 800 meters, Kyle Coleman won the 400 hurdles and both were part of the winning 4x400 meter relay team and Coast Guard took the top three spots in both the 800 meters and the pole vault and top four spots in the 5,000 meters to win a tri-meet at WPI.
Erickson won the 800 meters (1:57.40) while Steve Bondira was second (2:00.75) and Mike Haas was third (2:03.19).
Erickson also teamed Coleman, David Boyle and Tom Adams to win the 4x400 relay (3:22.61).
Coleman won the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.00, Haas won the 1,500 meters (3:59.70).
Nate Crum won the 5,000 meters (15:38.31), Matt Eyler was second (15:45.01), Zach Henninghausen was third (15:49.41) and Eric Laurel was fourth (16:07.42). |

 Mike Haas won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:07.96. (photo by Jeff Bartlett) NEW LONDON, CONN.--(4/5/08)--Carl Stokes won both the shot put and the discus as Coast Guard won the CGA Spring Invitational, beating a field of 11 teams.
Stokes won the shot put with a throw of 44-0.75 feet and the discus with a toss of 127-01 feet.
Also for the Bears, Steve Hager won the 100 meters (11.17), Mike Haas won the 5,000 meters (15:07.96), Kyle Coleman won the 400 meter hurdles (56.24), Nate Rhodes won the pole vault (14-8.75), Chris Hunt won the hammer (152-11) and the 4x400 relay team won of Jason Erickson, Matt Romano, David Boyle, Thomas Adams won with a time of 3:24.33.
Coast Guard totaled 234.5 points blowing away the field as Trinity was second with 136 points. |

 Jason Erickson won the 400 meters. WESTFIELD, MASS.--(3/29/08)--Nine different athletes were event winners as Coast Guard captured the Jerry Gravel Classic at Westfield State College.
Coast Guard easily won with 315 points while Westfield State was a distant second with 144.5 points.
Steve Hager won the 100 meters (11.75), Jason Erickson won the 400 meters (51.44), Matt Romano won the 800 meters (2:01.02), Mike Haas won the 1,500 meters (4:03.70), Eric Laurel won the 5,000 meters (15:41.80), Matt Eyler won the 10,000 meters (32:57.80), Tyler Ashner won the high jump (6-1.25), Nate Rhodes won the pole vault (14-4.75) and Steve Blum won the discus (130-3). |

(photo by Jeff Bartlett) NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/22/08)--Steve Blum won the shot put (41-3) and the javelin (183-04) while Carl Luxhoj won both the long jump (22-1.5 feet) and the triple jump (43-11.75 feet) as Coast Guard won all but four events to easily win its season opening five-team Invitational.
The Bears had 364.50 points while Conn. College was a distant second with just 65 points.
Also winning for Coast Guard were, Thomas Adams in the 400 meters (51.11), Jason Erickson in the 800 meters (1:59.77), Eric Laurel in the 1,500 meters (4:09.67), Kyle Coleman in the 400 meter hurdles (57.47), Beau Belanger in the high jump (6-1.25), Nate Rhodes in the pole vault (13-5.75), Carl Stokes in the discus (129-11) and Chris Hunt in the hammer (157-6)
The 4x100 relay team of Cale Cooper, Paul Sprenger, Adams and Sam England (44.20) and the 4x400 relay team of Erickson, Matt Romano, Joe Chevalier and England were also winners.
