Hanover, NH--(9/19/10)--The 13th ranked Women's Team was once again the highlight of a busy weekend for Coast Guard Sailing. The Lady Bears traveled to Hanover, NH for the Mrs. Hurst Bowl hosted by Dartmouth College. Saturday began with an unexpected Northerly which held long enough for A division to get a good set in. Without much delay, the forecasted Southerly filled for B division and remained for the rest of the day. Only two races were able to be complete on Sunday due to lack of wind.

Senior Krysta Rohde and junior Claire Miller finished 11th in A-Division with 87 points and three top-five finishes in eight races. In B-Division, senior Jenn Proctor and junior Kristen Holloway sailed very consistently in all but two races and finished 7th with 19 points. The team combined for 139 points and 8th overall out of 19 teams. Connecticut College won the regatta with 84 points. Yale was second with 95 and Boston College was third with 108.

With a few weekends of sailing other disciplines ahead, the women's team will next be in action at the Yale Women's Intersectional on October 16-17. On the weekend of October 2-3, Rohde, the 2007 Women's Singlehanded National Champion, will be competing to earn a berth to this year's National Championship.
