Boston, MA--(4/11/11)--The 13th ranked Women's Sailing Team finished 4th out of 16 teams at the President's Trophy hosted by Boston University. The weekend brought warm temps and light breeze that made for very close racing on the always shifty Charles River. The Lady Bears put on their best performance of the season, sailing well in all conditions.

Senior Jenn Proctor and junior Kristen Holloway were only four points out of winning B-Division, but finished 2nd with 43 points. They had two race wins and finished in the top-5 in seven of the ten races. In A-Division, senior Krysta Rohde and sophomore Justine Morrison finished 7th with 71 points.

The team combined for 114 points and fourth overall. Connecticut College took home the 2011 President's Trophy, finishing with 90 points. Yale was second with 95 points and Brown was third with 102 points.

Cranston, RI--(4/3/11)--The 13th ranked Women's Sailing Team finished 10th out of 17 teams at the Brad Dellenbaugh Trophy hosted by Brown University. A strong northwesterly kept racing tight and interesting all weekend. In A-Division, freshman Jaimie Chicoine, senior Krysta Rohde, and sophomore Justine Morrison finished 13th with 140 points. Senior Jenn Proctor and junior Kristen Holloway finished 9th with 114 points. The bears finished with a combined 254 points. Brown won their home event with Yale 2nd and Boston College 3rd.

Sam Ingham and Amanda Hamlet (boat 8) finished 2nd in A-Division at the Boston Dinghy Cup.

Boston, MA--(3/27/11)--Senior Sam Ingham and junior Amanda Hamlet continued to sail well at the top level this past weekend by finishing 2nd in A-Division at the 82nd Boston Dinghy Cup (BDC), and lead the 16th ranked Bears to 9th place overall. The BDC, co-hosted by MIT, Harvard, and Boston University, is college sailing’s oldest trophy and typically attracts top teams from across the country for three divisions of action on the Charles River. This year was no exception with ten nationally ranked teams in attendance from five of the seven conferences.

The Charles River also once again confirmed its reputation, with very shifty and often unpredictable racing conditions. After day one, Ingham and Hamlet put on an impressive performance by winning four races and only finishing outside of the top-5 in two of the ten races. Going into Sunday, the duo held a 14 point lead over Boston College’s Tyler Sinks and Lucy Wallace with a large gap to 3rd place. It turned out to be BC’s day, however, with the Bears slipping to 2nd place in A-Division. They finished with 102 points.

Sam Ingham and Amanda Hamlet won A-Division at the Vietor Trophy at home this weekend with 72 points.

New London, CT--(3/20/11)--Senior Sam Ingham and junior Amanda Hamlet led the 13th ranked Bears at the Vietor Trophy, hosted by Coast Guard, by winning A-Division by five points over Boston College. This early season trophy level event gave many teams the opportunity to sail multiple sets of sailors, making A-Division stronger than most trophy level regattas. Throughout the 16 race series, Ingham and Hamlet finished outside the top-10 only twice, had nine top-3 finishes and four race wins. They finished with 72 points.

Seniors Jon Duffett and Tanya Cuprak also sailed well, finishing 3rd in A-Division with 92 points. They also had two race wins and multiple top-5 finishes. Freshman Brad Milliken and senior Elise Maher finished 10th in A-Division with 152 points.

The 11th ranked Lady Bears were also in action at the very challenging St. Mary's Women's Intersectional hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland. The weekend brought shifty and often trying conditions, with breeze that ranged in both strength and direction. Much of the 18 team field found themselves very close in points for the majority of the regatta until the last few races when a few teams were able to pull away.
