 Kris Kesting earned a spot on the ECAC All-conference team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(5/20/10)--Senior Kris Kesting and sophomore Holly Madden were both named to the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships All-Conference team.
Kesting from named from the men's team while Madden represented the Coast Guard women.

STORRS, CONN.--(4/2/10)--The CGA men’s crew took on Division III powerhouse Trinity and a strong UConn team.
The CGA varsity got off of the line quickly and raced the best race so far this season. Joe DiRenzo, Austin King, Tom Olsen, Brian Bonomi, Phil Constantino, Kris Kesting, Steve Suggs, Dan Swaim and Andrew Slater rowed to a second place finish. They were 16 seconds behind Trinity and 40 seconds ahead of the UConn eight.
The men's second varsity 8 race was a four boat race against Trinity's 2V, 3V and UConn's 2V. The Bears were quick off the line and went to work chasing Trinity's 2V. The Bears held second place for the first 1500 meters, but Trinity's 3V slipped past in the last 500 meters to put the bears into third by 1.78 seconds. Crew members: Cox: William Rimmler, Stroke: Jacob Conrad, Erich Dix, George Greendyk, Sam Merritt, Geoffrey Pringle, Colin Schembri, Connor Stevens, Bow: Stephen Atwell.
The CGA V4 came off the line in good position and was even with crews from Trinity and UConn at the 1000 meter mark. CGA increased stroke rate and moved away from the other two crews to take the lead briefly after the 1000 meter mark but was unable to fend of the other two crews as the field approached the finish line. CGA came in third about a length behind the other two boats. The CGA boat was crewed by Dan Jones, Tyler Patrick, Chris Bodner, John Olbrys and Lydia Monks.
On Saturday, the Bears will take on Colby and UMass-Lowell.

WORCESTER, MASS.--(3/27/10) The men's crew raced Weslyan on Lake Quinsigamond in their season opener.
The Varsity first boat (Austin King, Joe Derenzo, Kris Kesting, Phil Constantino, Brian Bonomi, Steve Suggs, Tom Olson, Dan Swaim and Andrew Slater) raced a competitive race with a strong start but was beaten by six seconds by a Wesleyan crew that shows good early season speed.
In the Men's 2V race, the Bears were first off the line and held a half boat lead over Wesleyan through the first thousand meters, then proceeded to walk away and win with a boat length of open water. Crew members: Cox: William Rimmler, Stroke: Jacob Conrad, Erich Dix, George Greendyk, Sam Merritt, Geoffrey Pringle, Colin Schembri, Connor Stevens, Bow: Stephen Atwell.
The 3V was crewed by three CGA veterans, John Olbrys (stroke), Chris Bodner (seven) and Tyler Patrick (6); and five novices, Matt Engle (bow), Jake Naum (two), Dan Jones (three), Brendan Wilbraham (four), Art Konotopskiy (five) and coxswain Lydia Monks. For two of the rowers it was their first competition ever. The Bears came off the line at a stroke rate of 38 to gain a quick lead, before settling to a 32. They held off several challenges by Wesleyan to win the race by a length and a half.
Next the Bears take on the powerhouse Trinity as well as UConn in Coventry, Conn. on Saturday starting at 7:30.

WORCESTER, MASS.--(5/2/09)--The Bears had an exciting day at Lake Quinsigamond, capped by the bronze medal winning performance of the Novice 8 at the New England Championships.
In the morning heats, the Novice 8, qualified for the Grand Finals and a shot at a medal. In the afternoon finals, eventual winner Trinity “A” jumped out to an early lead, but Coast Guard battled down the course with UNH and Trinity “B” for the remaining medal positions. In an exciting finish, Coast Guard beat out Trinity “B” by 0.5 secs for 3rd place, finishing in a time of 6:26.05, three seconds out of 2nd place. The Novice 8 boat consisted of Jake Conrad, Colin Schembri, Bo Wowtschuk, Steve Atwell, George Greendyke, Erich Dix, Tyler Patrick, Nick Cosenza, and Will Rimmler, all members of the Class of 2012.
