Men's Crew - Bears Grab Pair of Bronze Medals at Head of Housy
SHELTON, CONN.--(10/6/07)--USCGA Crew medalled in 4 of 7 events entered at the Head of the Housatonic. The medal winners, in order of racing, included the Women's Collegiate 4+ (bronze), Men's Collegiate 8 (bronze), Women's Collegiate 8 (bronze), and the Men's Collegiate 4+ (bronze).

Men's Crew - Bears Start Season Strong
HARTFORD, CONN.--(9/30/07)--The Coast Guard Academy Crew team opened the 2007-08 season with an impressive showing at the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford on Sunday. On a beautiful fall day, CGA crews medaled in all nine events they entered.

The CGA Men’s team, facing stiff competition from Division I Army and rival Division III powerhouse Trinity, took home Gold in the Men’s Collegiate Novice Four. The Men’s Collegiate Four took silver in their race and the Men’s First Collegiate Eight, Men’s Second Collegiate Eight and Men’s Novice Collegiate Eight took bronze. Coast Guard also took fifth in the Men’s Collegiate Four.

Coast Guard Academy Crew will be back in action Saturday at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta in New Haven. The race schedule and results will be available at www.regettacentral.com.

 
Men's Crew - Bears Place 2nd at N.E. Championships
WORCESTER, MASS.--(5/6/07)--CGA Men’s Crew showed its depth and over all team speed by finishing second out of fifteen teams with 72 points at the New England Rowing Championships held Sunday under windy conditions at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, MA.

Medal winning performances by the Men’ Novice 8 (Silver), Men’s 2V (Bronze), Men’s 3V (Bronze) and an 8th place finish by the Men’s V8 garnered enough points to finish just behind a very strong Trinity (96) squad but outpaced NESCAC rival Williams (66).

Men's Crew - Bears Beat Bates, Tufts and Ithaca
WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.--(4/28/07)--The Coast Guard Men’s rowing team finished their dual racing season with wins against divisional rivals Bates and Tufts as well as ECAC foe Ithaca. The Bears are now well placed to compete in the New England Championships on Sunday.

The Men’s Varsity 8 raced twice on Saturday at the regatta on Lake Onota in Pittsfield Ma. In the morning race the CGA men lost to D1 Marist by 6 seconds and finished ahead of Tufts by 8 seconds, finishing in a time of 6:22.9. In the afternoon seeded finals, the Bears finished 3rd behind Marist and Williams but outpaced Ithaca. The Varsity 8 was comprised of Tenley Barna (Jr), Kris Kesting (Fr), Roy Cromer (So), Tomas Mameniskis (So), Kyle Chavers (Sr), Matt Vanderslice (Jr), Dave Gilbert (Sr), Riley Matsco (Jr), and Nick Iannarone (So).
