 Will Becker allowed just two hits and one run, but took the loss in the opener. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(3/22/08)--Wheaton’s Chris McDonough fired a seven-hit shutout outdueling Will Becker, who allowed just one run on two hits in the opener, and the Lyons, ranked 13th nationally, scored 15 runs in game two to sweep Coast Guard 1-0 and 15-1 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader, the conference openers for both teams.
The only run in the first game came in the home half of the fifth as Wheaton, whose field was unplayable served as the home team in both games. Jake Yagjian walked, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a two-out RBI single by Sean Munley.
McDonough (2-1) did not walk a batter and struck out three while allowing seven singles to pickup the win. |

 Adam Reckley pitched a complete game and had three hits for the win. FORT MYERS, FLA.—(3/15/08)—Junior Adam Reckley pitched a complete game and had three hits as Coast Guard closed out it's southern swing with a 13-2 win over Southern Vermont at the Gene Cusic Classic.
Reckley went seven innings and allowed two runs, both earned while striking out six and scattering nine hits.
Bill Birch was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Ryan Milligan had three this and three RBI’s for the Bears (4-4).
Brian Lisko had a double and drove in two runs. |

 Bill Birch had four hits and two RBI's in the loss. FORT MYERS, FLA.—(3/14/08)—Nichols College scored a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning to break an 8-8 tie and the Bison held on for 10-9 over Coast Guard at the Gene Cusic Classic, snapping the Bears three-game winning streak
Coast Guard (3-4) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings before Nichols scored six times in the third.
Junior Bill Birch led the Bears with four hits to go with two RBI’s while senior Adam Reckley had three hits and an RBI as Coast Guard totaled 14 hits. |

 Ryan Milligan had four hits, four runs scored and three RBI's in the win. FORT MYERS, FLA.--(3/13/08)--Coast Guard pounded out 24 hits, 23 of them singles as the Bears won their third straight beating Penn. State Abington 20-6 at the Gene Cusic Classic.
In the bottom of second, Coast Guard (3-3) sent 14 batters to the plate as all nine players scored and the Bears scored 11 times to take a 12-0 lead.
Sophomore Ryan Milligan had four hits including the Bears only extra base hit of the day, a double, to go with four runs scored and three RBI’s, junior Kevin Keefe had three hits and three RBI’s while sophomore Steve Arguelles added a pair of hits for the Bears. |
