 Matt Leisy was one of three Bears to win all three matches at the New England Dual Championships. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(1/24/10)—Coast Guard, seeded 13th in the tournament, picked up its first win of the season at the New England Wresting Association’s Dual Meet Championship hosted by Springfield College. The Bears went 1-2 on the day and placed 13th overall.
Andy Snyder (157), Matt Leisy (165) and Will Stark (174) all went unbeaten winning all three matches in the tournament for the Bears.
The Bears won their final match of the afternoon, beating 14th-seeded WPI 49-6 for the first dual meet win of the season after losing the first eight matches of the season. |

 Will Stark pinned the #2 wrestler in New England at 174 pounds. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/13/10)--Coast Guard’s Will Stark pinned Zachary Bates, the #2 wrestler in New England at 174 pounds, but the Bears fell to Bridgewater State 24-23 in Pilgrim Wrestling League action.
Andrew Armstrong (133) and Fred Green (141) both won by major decision for the Bears while and Reese Mowery (Hwt.) picked up a win by decision for the Bears.
Andy Snyder (157) pinned his opponent in just 25 seconds while Stark won by pin in 2:35.
The match was tied 20-20 before the Bears lost a major decision at 197 pounds to fall behind 24-23 and Mowrey needed a major decision for the tie or a pin for the win, and he won an 8-6 decision.
Coast Guard drops to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in league action.

 Andy Snyder picked up three wins at the North/South Duals. COLLEGEVILLE, PA.--(1/9/10)--Coast Guard dropped four matches at the North/South Duals hosted by Ursinus.
The Bears lost to Wilkes 50-4, Ursinus 31-10, McDaniel 26-16 and West Chester 27-26.
Reese Mowery won the only match vs. Wilkes with a major decision at heavyweight.

 Andy Snyder placed second at 157 pounds. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(11/21/09)--Andy Snyder placed second at 157 pounds as Coast Guard finished 17th of 18 teams at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College.
Snyder got a bye in the first round and then won four straight matches, three by decision and one with a pin to earn a spot in the championship match, where he lost 8-1. His wins by decision were by scores of 9-2, 3-1 and 5-3 while he pinned his opponent in just 1:22.
