NEW YORK, N.Y.--(11/10/07)--Coast Guard lost to host NYU 235.5-64.5 and Wheaton 190.5-107.5.
Freshman Kim Shadwick won the 200 meter freestyle (1:58.41) and set a school record in the 500 freestyle, 5:15.67, which beats the former record of 5:18.71.

 Kim Shadwick won three events in the first dual meet of her collegiate career. NEW PALTZ, N.Y.--(11/7/07)--Freshman Kim Shadwick won the 200 freestyle (1:59.36), 500 freestyle (5:20.03) and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay team (1:46.66), however SUNY-New Paltz won the season opening dueal meet 116-81.
Also for the Bears, Emily Zalewski, Anna Moorman and Jenny Field swam with Shadwick on the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

 Freshman Kim Shadwick broke the school record in the 100 backstroke in her first collegiate meet. SCHENECTADY, N.Y.--(10/27/07)--Freshman Kim Shadwick broke the school record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.11 and she was part of two second place relay teams as Coast Guard placed third of the five teams at the season opening Union Relays.
The Bears which had placed fifth in each of the past three seasons, had four second place finishes.
Freshmen divers Alyse Marquinez and Marie Canavan took second in both the one meter (269.85) and the three meter (221.18). |

 NCAA Qualifier Joan Hunter looks to have a big senior season. After a year in which the team made a leap forward in place at the NEWMAC championships, a strong returning group will serve as a the center for a vastly improved squad. The women will be lead by tri-captains Jenny Fields, Joan Hunter and Kay Lord. The women return all the athletes who scored at the 2007 NEWMAC championship meet save one graduated senior. The recruited class of 2010 will be one which can make an immediate impact on the success of the team. |
