WORCESTER, MASS.--(1/31/09)--Sarah-Jane Otey and Kim Shadwick each won a pair of individual events and both were part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team leading Coast Guard to a 137-106 win over host Clark.

Otey won the 100 freestyle (55.82) and the 200 freestyle (2:00.30) while Shadwick won the 500 freestyle (5:20.08) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:43.25) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Heidi Gayman, Emily Zalewski, Otey and Shadwick posted a winning time of 1:43.40

Gayman also won the 50 freestyle (25.69), Samantha Sworden won the 200 backstroke (2:21.87) and Krystyna Vihonski won the 200 breaststroke (2:34.61).

Kim Shadwick won a pair of events in the loss.

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/30/09)--Kim Shadwick and Ariana Pourmonior each won two events, but Coast Guard lost to neighboring rival and host Connecticut College 175-119.

Shadwick won the 100 backstroke (1:02.34) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.99) while Pourmonior won both the 1-meter diving (165.97) and the 3-meter diving (192.52) events for the Bears.

Also for Coast Guard (3-5-1), Samantha Sworden won the 1,000 freestyle (10:59.16) and Heidi Gayman won the 100 freestyle (55.59).

Women's Swimming - Bears Easily Beat Merchant Marine

Alyse Marquinez was one of three double winners as the Bears won easily over Merchant Marine.

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/24/09)--Sarah-Jane Otey, Sam Sworden and Alyse Marquinez led a dominating performance for Coast Guard as the Bears easily beat rival Merchant Marine 168-89.

Otey won the 100 freestyle (56.00) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:18.35), Sworden won the 100 backstroke (1:04.83) and the 200 backstroke (2:21.46) while Marquinez won the 1-meter diving (187.95) and the 3-meter diving events (184.70) for the Bears.

Also for Coast Guard, Kim Shadwick won the 200 freestyle (1:58.16), Krystyna Vihonski won the 100 breaststroke (1:11.94), Katie Schumacher won the 200 butterfly (2:31.93), Heidi Gayman won the 50 freestyle (25.46) and the 200 medley relay team of Shadwick, Vihonski, Sworden and Gayman won with a time of 1:55.53.
