Women's Swimming - 2010-2011 Season Preview
Image
Kim Shadwick, an All-America Honorable Mention and 2010 NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year, will lead the Bears once again.
Coast Guard returns all but one athlete who scored at the 2010 NEWMAC championship meet in February. The solid core of returning veterans and an elite recruiting class will mark the women’s progression to a better team. They will focus on several key matchups throughout the dual meet season and look to peak at the NEWMAC conference championship as the culmination of an excellent season.

Returning as a captain for the second year in a row is All-America Honorable Mention and 2010 NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year Kim Shadwick. Kim is joined by first time captains, Amy Harrison and Anna Moorman who will provide valuable leadership to a young team. These seniors are joined by classmates Marie Canavan (school record holder in 1 meter diving), Megan Willmann (butterfly, IM), Trayce Womack (butterfly, Freestyle) and Emily Zalewski (school relay record holder). These seniors have seen the team steadily improve in their first three years at the Academy and should see another step forward for the growing program.
