 Kim Shadwick won the 500 freestyle for the third straight season. SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.--(2/18/11)--Senior Kim Shadwick won the 500-yard freestyle for the third straight season with her time of 5:00.71 during the first day of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships.
Shadwick, the NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year last season, met the NCAA “B” standard with her time.

 Hannah Walden won the 400 IM for the Bears. MIDDLETOWN, CONN.--(2/5/11)--Coast Guard won just two events in a 206-93 loss to Wesleyan in the final dual meet of the season.
Senior Kim Shadwick won the 500 freestyle in 5:18.83 while freshman Hannah Walden won the 400 IM with a time of 4:49.51.
Shadwick also placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:56.13) for the Bears, who finished 4-6 in dual meets this season. |

 Chantel Ferguson won two individual events and was part of a winning relay to lead the Bears. WORCESTER, MASS.--(1/29/11)--Junior Heidi Gayman and freshman Chantel Ferguson each won two events and were part of the winning 400 medley relay team leading Coast Guard to a 129-103 win over Clark.
Ferguson was first in the 200 IM (2:17.77) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.83), while Gayman blazed her way to first-place showings in the 50 butterfly (25.69) and the 100 freestyle (54.58).
The duo teamed with freshmen Hannah Walden and Alyssa Guminski to win the 400 medley relay with a time of 4:16.46.
Senior Kim Shadwick won the 1,000 freestyle (10:51.19), junior Sarah Jane Otey captured the 200 freestyle (2:00.38) while junior Jordan Mestemaker capture the 100 backstroke (1:07.77) as the Bears improved to 4-5 in dual meets this season.

 Sarah Jane Otey won a pair of events as the Bears easily beat Merchant Marine. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/22/11)--Junior Sarah Jane Otey and freshman Ali Stinner each won a pair of events leading Coast Guard to a 183-101 win over rival Merchant Marine on Senior Day, the final home meet of the season.
Otey won both the the 200 freestyle (1:59.82) and the 500 freestyle (5:29.49) while Stinner won both the 1-meter diving with 145.10 points and the 3-meter event with 128.25 points as the Bears improved to 3-5 on the season.
It was a total team effort for Coast Guard as seven other Bears won events as the team cruised to victory. |
