 Christian Brindamour had a big day to lead the Bears. MIDDLETOWN, CONN.--(2/4/12)--Freshman Christian Brindamour won a pair of events and was part of winning relay leading the Bears to a 211-68 win over Wesleyan in the final dual meet of the season.
Brindamour won the 100 backstroke (54.19) and the 100 freestyle (47.96), Orlando Morel won both the one-meter (216.07) and three-meter (213.82) diving events while Marco Tinari won the 500 freestyle (4:49.17) and the 1,000 freestyle (9:57.37) as the Bears finished 10-2 in dual meets this season.
Also for Coast Guard, Brian McGuiness won the 200 freestyle (1:46.08), , Michael Piantedosi won the 100 breaststroke (1:00.72), Tim Early won the 200 butterfly (1:58.68), Johnson Knox won the 50 freestyle (21.88), Kevin Smit won the 200 backstroke (2:02.65) and Preston Strobel won the 100 butterfly (52.79). |

 Dan Beshoar won the 100 freestyle and was part of the record setting relay team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/28/12)--Head Coach John Westkott picked up his 150th career win as both the men’s and women’s team beat Clark to celebrate Senior Day.
The men’s team beat Clark 133-92 to improve to 9-2 on the season. Westkott has 102 wins with the men’s program and 48 as head coach of the women’s team.
The 400 freestyle relay team of freshman Christian Brindamour, senior Johnson Knox, senior Brian McGuiness and senior Dan Beshoar broke the pool record with a time of 3:08.92. |

 Orlando Morel won both diving events in the win. KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(1/22/12)--Johnson Knox and Orlando Morel each won two events leading Coast Guard to a 187-108 win over host and rival Merchant Marine.
Knox won the 100 breaststroke (59.94) and the 50 freestyle (21.90) while Morel captured the 1-meter diving (235.5 points) and the 3-meter event with 188.45 points as the Bears improved to 8-2 on the season.
Marco Tinari won the 1,000 freestyle (9:55.23) and Brian McGuiness won the 100 freestyle (48.01) for Coast Guard while the Bears 200 freestyle relay team of Christian Brindamour, Dan Beshoar, Preston Strobel and McGuiness won in 1:27.61.

 Brian McGuiness had a pair of second place finishes for the Bears. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(1/15/12)--Brian McGuiness placed second in the 100 freestyle and was part of a relay team which placed second as Coast Guard beat host Springfield 203-96, but lost to MIT 231-63.
Marco Tinari placed second in both the 1,000 freestyle (9:57.13) and the 500 freestyle (4:48.25).
McGuiness was second in the the 100 freestyle (48.01) while the 200 free relay team of Christian Brindamour, McGuiness, Dan Beshoar and Johnson Knox finished second with a time of 1:27.61.
Coast Guard is now 7-2 on the season. |
