KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(1/26/08)--Merchant Marine won the final relay of the day to secure its first win over Coast Guard since 1985 as the Mariners downed the Bears 157-143.
Senior All-America Bobby Brown won both the 100 freestyle (47.84) and the 200 freestyle (1:45.40) while classmate Doug Fallon captured the 500 freestyle (4:52.06) and the 100 butterfly (53.15).
Also for the Bears, freshman Alexander Brown won the 1,000 freestyle (10:05.87) and junior Jim Okorn took the 50 freestyle in 21.73. |

 Doug Fallon won both the 200 butterfly and the 400 IM leading the Bears to two wins. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(1/20/08)--Senior Doug Fallon won both the 200 butterfly and 400 IM while placing second in the 200 backstroke as Coast Guard beat both MIT (154-144) and host Springfield (187-113) in a tri-meet at Springfield.
Fallon won the 200 butterfly in 1:59.58, the 400 IM in 4:14.67 and had a second place time of 2:02.89 in the 200 backstroke finishing behind his teammate sophomore Timmy Berry (1:57.94).
Also for the Bears (6-2), junior Jim Okorn won the 100 freestyle (48.01) and junior Nick Forni took the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.50.

 Jim Okorn won the 50 freestyle and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team in the Bears win. WELLESLEY, MASS.--(1/15/08)--Sophomore Tim Berry and junior Jim Okorn each won an individual event and were part of the winning 200 medley relay team as Coast Guard beat Babson 123-97 at Wellesley College.
Berry won the 100 butterfly (53.71) while Okorn won the 50 freestyle (21.68) and the duo teamed with freshman Mike Carman and sophomore Taylor Volkman to win the 200 medley relay (1:39.75).
Senior Dan Cloonan qualified for the NCAA Championships in the one meter diving event with a score of 267.45. It is the first time Cloonan has qualified in his career.
Also for the Bears, senior Bobby Brown won the 1,000 freestyle (10:06.49), senior Doug Fallon won the 200 IM (2:02.27), junior Jack Shadwick won the 200 freestyle (1:48.65) and junior Ryan Taylor won the 100 backstroke (56.61).

NEW LONDON, CONN.-(12/8/07)--Coast Guard without the services of All-America Bobby Brown, who has his wisdom teeth taken out earlier in the week, fell to Division I Rhode Island 154-146.
The meet featured the battle between father and son as URI head coach Mick Westkott squared off against his son, Coast Guard head coach John Westkott. |
