Ethan Brown begins his first season as head coach of the track and field team after serving as an assistant for the past three seasons. The Bears will be led by a solid sophomore class.

Sophomore Elizabeth Flint, school record holder in the triple jump (35’ 9.5”), competed at both the Division III and All-New England Championships last season.

Sophomore Abby Bishop, who earned Division III All-New England honors outdoor in the heptathlon last season, is the school record holder in the pentathlon (indoors) with 2,516 points and outdoors with 4,002 point. She had an outstanding year last year and she will be contribute in several events this season.

Sophomores Emily Trudeau and Hannah Seeland will both have to step up their performances from last year. Trudeau, who earned Division III All-New England honors in the shot put and discus outdoors, was just on the heels of the outdoor shot put record (38’ 4.25”). Both Trudeau and Seeland could be competing for top spots in Division III New England championships. Seeland’s top weight throw indoors last year was 38’ 5.5”. Freshman thrower Kyle Sutschek will play a supporting role this season.

Elizabeth Flint had a leap of 35 feet, 1.75 inches in the triple jump.

BOSTON, MASS.--(2/26/11)--Freshman Elizabeth Flint was the top Coast Guard finisher at the the All-New England Championship consisting of athletes from Divisions I, II and III hosted by Boston University.

Flint competed in the triple jump and posted a mark of 35 feet, 1.75 inches.

Women's Indoor Track - Trudeau Top CGA Finisher

Emily Trudeau was the top Coast Guard finisher at the Division III New England Championships.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(2/19/11)--Emily Trudeau was the top Coast Guard finisher as she placed 13th in the shot put at the Division III New England Championships at MIT.

Trudeau had a career-best throw of 35 feet, 6.75 inches.

Also for the Bears, Sarah Blatt was 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:26.66, Elizabeth Flint finished 15th in the triple jump with a best marks of 33 feet, 7.5 inches.

Coast Guard's 4x800 meter relay with Blatt, Kalinowski, Jill Kelly, and Alainna Kiskaddon finished in 16th place with a time of 10:21.49

Women's Indoor Track - Bishop Breaks Own Record

Abby Bishop placed 10th in the pentathlon.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(2/18/11)--Freshman Abby Bishop finished 10th overall in the Pentathlon at the Division III New England Championships at MIT scoring 2706 points.

Bishop's total score broke her own record of 2516 points set two weeks ago at the Tufts Invitational.

Abby's performances included 9.45 seconds in the 55 hurdles, 23 feet, 1.75 inches in the shot put, 4 feet, 6.25 inches in the high jump, 16 feet, 1.5 inches in the long jump.
