 Carl Luxhoj set a school-record in the triple jump and earned All-New England honors. SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(2/19/11)--Senior Carl Luxhoj set a new school record in the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet, five inches at the Division III New England Championship at Springfield College.
The previous record, 47 feet, 0.75 inches was held by Mike Moore set in 1976.

 Jordan Kellham placed fourth in the pole vault. BOSTON, MASS.--(2/12/11)--The Coast Guard Academy men's track and field team posted solid performances among Division I, II and III competition at the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
In the field events, Jordan Kellam and Ben Wolhaupter placed 4th and 8th in the pole vault. Kellam soared over 14 feet 5.25 inches and Wolhaupter cleared 13 feet, 5.25 inches. Carl Luxhoj placed fifth in both the long jump (21 feet, 7.5 inches) and the triple jump (45-5.75).
In the throwing events, Devin Adams and Pat Page tossed the weight throw 48 feet, 10.25 inches and 48 feet, 2.75 inches respectively placing 10th and 12th overall. |

 Carl Luxhoj had a pair of second place finishes for the Bears. MEDFORD, MASS.--(2/5/11)--Senior Carl Luxhoj was Coast Guard's top finisher placing second in the long jump (21' 8") and triple jump (47' 0.25") at the Tufts Invitational.
Luxhoj's mark in the triple jump was good enough to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
In other field events, John Jaskot placed fourth in the high jump (6' 1.25), Kemron Beache was eighth in the shot put (43' 9.25"), and Devin Adams finished third in the weight throw (51' 7.75"). |

 Tieran Bonner won both the 55 and 200 metes to lead the Bears to victory. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/29/11)--Sophomore Tieran Bonner won both the 55 and 200 meters as Coast Guard won 13 events to capture its own Invitational.
Coast Guard won the four-team Invitational with 103 points. Westfield State was second with 73.5, Trinity was third with 45 points while Eastern Connecticut finsihed with 28.5 points.
Bonner won the 55 meters in 6.74 seconds and the 200 meters with a time of 23.58.
The Bears had nine other winners in individual events. Junior Trevor Siperek won the mile (4:33.49), senior Kyle Coleman won the 600 meters (1:25.73), junior Myles McCarthy captured the 3,000 meters in 9:13.71, freshman Adam Scalesse won the 55 meter hurdles (8.03). |
