Men's Indoor Track - Cremeans Wins MIT Pentathlon; Coleman Places 2nd

Jesse Cremeans won the MIT Pentathlon to open the season.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(1/10/09)--Sophomore Jesse Cremeans won the high jump, the long jump and the 1,000 meters and tied for first place in the 55 hurdles on the way to winning the season-opening pentathlon at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Cremeans finished with 3,368 points and sophomore Kyle Coleman was second with 3,136 points. Coleman also tied for first in the hurdles, as well as tying for fifth in the high jump and finishing third in the 1,000.

Both athletes qualified for the Division III New England championship and Division III ECAC championship.
 
Men's Indoor Track - Hunt Earns All-America Honors

Chris Hunt added the word All-America to his name with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships.
ADA, OHIO--(3/14/08)--Senior Chris Hunt earned All-America honors by placing eighth in the 35-pound weight throw at the NCAA Division III Championships at Ohio Northern University.

Hunt's throw was 57 feet 33/4 inches making him an All-American for the first time in his career.
 
Men's Indoor Track - Seven Earn All-ECAC Honors

Freshman Carl Luxhoj earned All-ECAC honors in two events.
CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(3/8/08)--Coast Guard had seven athletes earn All-ECAC honors at the ECAC Championships at Harvard.

Senior Chris Hunt was third in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 56’-3.25.

Freshman Jesse Cremeans placed sixth in the pentathlon with 3,272 points breaking his own school record of 3,199 points set earlier this season.

Freshman Carl Luxhoj was fifth in the long jump with a jump of 22’- 2.5 and seventh in the triple jump with 46’-3.5 which was also a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.

Men's Track - Hunt Qualifies for NCAA Championships

Chris Hunt broke his own school record and qualified for the NCAA Championships in the weight throw.
BOSTON, MASS.--(3/1/08)--Senior Chris Hunt finished third in the 35-pound weight throw at the All-New England Championships at Boston University, breaking his own school record and qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships March 14-15 at Ohio Northern University.

Hunt had a throw of 58 feet, 13/4 inches, breaking his own school record by more than two feet. He was competing against athletes from Divisions I, II and III.
