Men's Indoor Track - Bears Get Pair of 2nd Place Finishes

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(2/6/10)--John Jaskot placed second in the high jump while the 4x400 meter relay team of Kyle Coleman, Dan Miller, Jesse Cremeans and Josh Wofford also took second as the Bears battled New England powers MIT and Williams.

Jaskot had a leap of 6 feet, 3.25 inches while the 4x400 relay team finished with a time of 3:35.02

Tieran Bonner took third in both the 55 meters (6.67) and the 200 meters (23:37) while Wofford placed third in the 400 meters (51.16) and Carl Stokes took third in the shot put (47 feet, 0.75 inches).

Host MIT won with 192.5 points, Williams was second with 132 points while the Bears finished with 47 points.
 
Men's Indoor Track - Juniors Lead Bears to Victory

Josh Wofford won the 400 meters and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/30/10)--A trio of juniors qualified for the Division III New England Championships and won their events as the Bears won the Coast Guard Invitational.

Coast Guard finished with 222 points to beat Westfield State (161.5), Trinity (136) and Eastern Connecticut (87.5).

Junior Devin Adams won the weight throw with a toss of 51 feet, 6.25 inches, junior John Jaskot won the high jump (6 feet, 4 inches) and classmate Josh Wofford won the 400 meters (51.26) as all three qualified for the Division III New England Championships. Jaskot improved his qualifying leap after going 6 feet, 3.25 inches last week.

Men's Indoor Track - Morris, Jaskot Lead Bears to 3rd Place Finish

Carl Stokes took third in the shot put as the Bears placed third.
SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(1/23/10)--Sophomore Bret Morris won the 800 meters with a time of 2:04.83 while junior John Jaskot took first in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 3.25 inches qualifying him for the Division III New England Championships as the Bears placed third at the Springfield Invitational.

Host Springfield won the meet with 129 points, Bowdoin was second with 109 points while Coast Guard finished with 94.5 points.

Senior Carl Stokes took 3rd in the shot put with a toss of 45 feet, 10 inches and the 4x800 relay team of Mike Mrkvicka, Nate Crum, Andrew Price and Chris Marquis also finished second with a time of 8:18.27.



 
Men's Indoor Track - Bears Win Season Opening Invite

Tiernan Bonner won a pair of events in his collegiate debut.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/16/10)--Freshman Tieran Bonner won both the 55 meters and the 200 meters in his first collegiate meet while junior Nate Crum won the 1,000 meters, the mile and was part of a winning relay leading Coast Guard to victory in the season opening Coast Guard Invitational.

Bonner won the 55 meters in 6.73 and the 200 meters in 24.11 while Crum won the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:42.72 and the mile in 4:33.53.

The Bears 4x800 relay team of Chris Marquis, Mike Mrkvicka, Crum and Andrew Price won with a time of 3:39.41.

Coast Guard easily won with 292.5 points while Rhode Island College was second with 113 points. Connecticut College was third with 104.5 points while Merchant Marine was fourth with 67 points.
