 Melissa Martinelli had a double-double in the losing effort. NEWPORT, R.I.--(1/27/09)--Lindsay Shorey had 19 points and 10 rebounds leading Salve Regina to a 59-46 home win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.
The Seahawks led by as many as seven on three different occasions in the first half. Jennifer Tamminen hit a 3-pointer with four seconds left in opening half to pull the Bears to within 30-26 at the break.
Coast Guard's Carin Sweeney hit a 3-pointer with 15:53 left to tie the game, 32-32.
Salve led 36-35 with 11:38 left when the Seahawks used an 11-1 run taking a 47-36 lead with 5:19 to go.
The Bears scored five straight, making the score 47-41, on a bucket by Melissa Martinelli and a 3-pointer by Tamminen before Salve scored 12 straight to take its largest lead of the game, 59-41, with just 1:33 left. |

 Jessica Anderson had a career-high nine points as she connected on three 3-pointers. WORCESTER, MASS.--(1/24/09)--Clark scored 17 straight points over a span of just under five minutes which spanned the end of the first half and beginning of the second half as the Cougars beat the Bears 59-51 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Junior Melissa Martinelli had a team-high 20 points to lead Coast Guard while Sarah Roderigue led Clark with 17 points, Jillian Camilleri added 13 and Kate Minister finished with 11 points in the win.
Clark (7-10, 3-2) led 20-12 with 4:51 left, before Coast Guard sophomore Jessica Anderson, who had made just two 3-pointers on the season, knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers and sophomore Allison Majcher tied the game 20-20 with 3:22 left. Anderson finished with a career-high nine points. |

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/21/09)--Junior Kate Shafir had 16 points and freshman Tricia Chase grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds as Mount Holyoke allowed just 15 second half points and beat Coast Guard 47-36 in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
The win was the first conference win of the season for Mount Holyoke (4-12, 1-3), which snapped a three-game losing streak while the Bears dropped to 1-12 overall and 1-4 in the NEWMAC.
Coast Guard was just four of 22 from the floor (18.2 percent) in the second half and the Bears shot a season-low 24.4 percent for the game (11-45) and just two for 17 from 3-point range. |

 Jennifer Tamminen had a game-high 17 points in the loss. WELLESLEY, MASS.--(1/17/09)--Wellesley used a 15-0 run early in the second half enroute to a 53-42 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Coast Guard, which trailed 27-22 at halftime, scored the first four points of the second half. Sophomore Leslie Hunt's bucket with 17:47 made the score 27-26 before the Blue scored 15 straight to take control of the game with a 42-26 lead with 12:57 left.
Wellesley (7-4, 2-2) took its largest lead of the game, 53-31 with 7:06 left, but Coast Guard scored the final 11 points of the game, nine of them by sophomore Jennifer Tamminen, who led the Bears with a game-high 17 points to go with six rebounds. |
