 Leslie Hunt had a career-high 12 points in the loss. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/6/08)--Senior Ali Fourney had 16 of her season-high 26 points and Wesleyan used a 19-0 run late in the game enroute to 61-43 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.
Fourney had 11 of the Cardinals 19 points in the 19-0 run as Wesleyan turned a 42-40 lead into a 61-40 lead with 2:57 left before Coast Guard had three free throws at the end of the game.
Coast Guard sophomore Allison Majcher’s basket with 10:48 left cut the Cardinals lead to 42-40, but that would be the Bears last field goal of the game.
Graduate student Lucy Sprung added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Wesleyan (5-2), which led 31-28 at halftime. |

 Maddie Buchert had 12 points in her collegiate debut. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/3/08)--Western New England used a 12-2 run to start the second half to break open a tie game at the half enroute to a 51-45 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.
Sophomore Taryn Belowsky led the Golden Bears with 13 points as WNEC (3-2) snapped a two-game losing streak in a game that was tied 26-26 at halftime.
WNEC led by as many as 13 in the second half, 43-30 with 9:25 left.
The Golden Bears led 45-35 with 4:34 left when Coast Guard scored nine of the next 11 points to make it a one possession game, trailing 47-44 with 1:22 left.
Belowsky made a pair of free throws with 1:14 left to push the lead to 49-44 and the Golden Bears held on. |

 Melissa Martinelli had season-highs with 30 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. HENNIKER, N.H.--(12/2/08)--LaShawnda Wilson scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Pilgrims past the visiting Bears of the Coast Guard Academy 54-50. With the win the Pilgrims better their record to 4-3 while the loss drops the Bears to 0-4.
Junior Melissa Martinelli was sensational as she finished with a season-high 30 points to go with a season-high 13 rebounds. Martinelli was 13 for 16 from the floor while the rest of the team was just 7 of 37 (18.9 percent).
Sophomore Jennifer Tamminen finished with nine points and nine rebounds in the loss. Coast Guard made just one for 14 from 3-point range. |

 Jen Tamminen had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. VALLEJO, CA.—(11/22/08)—Lauren Westbrook had a game-high 24 points including a pair of free throws with 14.8 seconds left as host California Maritime beat Coast Guard 49-44 in the consolation game of the Maritime Classic Basketball Tournament.
Westbrook’s free throws gave the Keelhaulers a 48-44 lead with 14.8 seconds left as the Bears dropped their third straight to open the season.
Coast Guard junior Melissa Martinelli and Westbrook were the only players to score in the first nine minutes of the game, with Westbrook and the Keelhaulers lead the Bears 8-7 with 11 minutes left. |
