 Natalie Moyer hit back-to-back three pointers to erase a five point deficit in overtime. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/6/07)--Coast Guard scored the final six points of regulation and Natalie Moyer had 10 of her game-high 20 points in overtime including back-to-back three-pointers erasing a five point deficit leading Coast Guard to a come-from-behind 62-54 win over MIT in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for both teams.
The Engineers took a 42-36 lead on a three-pointer by Clara Yuan with two minutes left in regulation before Melissa Martinelli (18 points, 11 rebounds) had back-to-back buckets and Corinne McCormack sank a pair of three throws with 40.4 seconds left, the final points of regulation, to tie the game at 42-42. |

 Natalie Moyer had 32 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Merchant Marine. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/11/06)--Natalie Moyer had 32 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and five steals and she was one of three Coast Guard players to record double-doubles as the Bears closed out the first semester beating rival Merchant Marine 71-57 in a non-conference game. The loss by Merchant Marine was its first against a Division III team this season, as they drop to 5-2 overall.
Coast Guard dominated on the boards as they outrebounded Merchant Marine 63-34. Melissa Martinelli had 13 points and 16 rebounds while Corinne McCormack had 10 points on five-of-six shooting from the field and she tied a career-high grabbing 17 rebounds for the second straight game. |

 Freshman Melissa Martinelli had a career-high 28 points and 20 rebounds. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/9/06)--Freshman Melissa Martinelli had career-high’s with 28 points and 20 rebounds leading Coast Guard to a come-from-behind 63-56 overtime win over St. Joseph of Hartford in a non-conference game.
Coast Guard scored the first 10 points of the overtime period as St. Joseph did not score in overtime until a basket by junior Samantha Krupa with 37 seconds left.
The Bears were 10 for 12 from the foul line in the overtime period with junior DeCarol Davis going a perfect six for six from the line in the final 50 seconds of overtime.
St. Joseph (2-7) led 27-20 at halftime as the Bears were 0 for 13 from three-point range in the first half. |

PROVIDENCE, R.I.-- (12/7/06)--Johnson & Wales posted a 67-58 victory over Coast Guard in a non-conference contest at the Harborside Recreation Center on Tuesday evening.
Johnson & Wales had four players in double figures, including senior Samantha Cowens who registered a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds while sophomore Johanna Santosuossa added 13 points, three boards and two assists in the victory. Sophomore Maria Valletta and sophomore Shannon Hunter each scored 11 points while freshman Alexia Ramirez rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Wildcats with 11 points in the victory. |
