Men's Basketball - Jeff Prebeck scores 1,000th in win over Wheaton

Jeff Prebeck became the 15th men's basketball player to join the Coast Guard Academy 1,000 point club.
NEW LONDON, CONN.—-(1/9/07)--Stefan Lewis and Grant Johnson each hit four three-pointers in the second half as Coast Guard used a three-point shooting barrage, hitting 11 of 16 in the final 20 minutes leading the Bears to a 69-56 win over Wheaton in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Johnson hit three three-pointers and Al Sowers added a pair of two point baskets in a key 13-0 run down the stretch which turned a 55-51 lead with 4:20 left into a 68-51 advantage with 1:36 left in the game.
Lewis, who hit a career-high five three-pointers (5 for 7) and finished with a career-high 15 points, hit a trio of trifectas in a span of 1:22 and the Bears used an 11-0 run to erase a 41-36 deficit, taking a 47-41 lead with 8:20 left.

Men's Basketball - Bears Fall in Double OT at Clark
WORCESTER, MASS.--(1/6/07)--Jeff Prebeck had a career-high 33 points to go with a game-high 17 rebounds, his 10th straight double-double, but it wasn't enough as Coast Guard lost to Clark 102-91 in double overtime in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for both teams.

With the win, Clark improves to 6-4 overall (1-0 NEWMAC), while Coast Guard falls to 7-4 (0-1 NEWMAC).

Men's Basketball - Bears Roll Past Lesley 99-76

Grant Johnson had a season-high 20 points, one of three CGA players with 20 or more points in the win.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/4/07)--Jeff Prebeck led all scorers with 25 points and he grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to register his ninth straight double-double while Al Sowers and Grant Johnson each had season highs with 24 and 20 points respectively leading Coast Guard to a 99-76 win over Lesley in a non-conference game in the first game of the second semester for both teams.

The Bears used a 16-4 spurt late in the first half turning a 30-30 tie into a 46-34 lead with 3:50 left in the first half. Coast Guard (7-3) led 50-37 at halftime.

Men's Basketball - RIC overcomes 19-point deficit to beat Bears
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/12/06)--Rhode Island College scored the final 11 points of the first half and came back from an 19 point first half deficit to beat Coast Guard 76-71 for its fourth straight win in a non-conference game.

RIC (7-1) took the lead for good, 70-68, on a three-pointer by Cameron Stewart with 1:10 left. Bobby Bailey went four-for-four from the foul line to ice the game and increase the lead to 74-68 with 27 seconds left.
