 Greg Marshall had a game-high 23 points to lead the Bears to a win over Clark. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(1/5/11)--Sophomore Greg Marshall had a game-high 23 points and Coast Guard used a 16-0 run in the first half to erase a nine point deficit and the Bears never looked back beating Clark 73-65 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener for both teams.
Junior Brian Vayda had 11 points in the first seven minutes of the game as Clark built a 17-8 lead with 13:16 left in the first half.
Coast Guard scored 16 straight capped on a 3-pointer by freshman Kevin Sowers with 5:05 left for a 24-17 lead. The Bears led 30-26 at the break.
Vayda had 13 points at halftime and did not score again until 3:15 left as he scored nine points in the final 3:15 to finish with a team-high 22 points and nine rebounds. |

 Greg Marshall led the Bears with 16 points in the loss. NEWPORT, R.I.--(1/2/11)--Senior guard Windell Hinkson led all players with 17 points in just 20 minutes of action as Salve Regina University defeated Coast Guard 75-61, in non-league action in Newport.
Hinkson made his first 3-point attempt of the game at 18:54 which broke a 2-2 score and gave the Seahawks the lead for good.
After senior guard Adam Radtke sank a jumper with 5:43 left in the first half to bring Coast Guard within one (26-25), Salve Regina finished the half with a 22-5 run.
Seahawk freshman Joshua Fuhrmeister swished a pair of 3-pointers during the run which culminated with Hinkson converting an old-fashioned three-point play with one tick on the clock. |

 Jevon James had a game-high 16 points for Coast Guard. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/9/10)--Roger Williams shot 58.8 percent from 3-point range making 10 of 17 attempts and beat Coast Guard 66-61 in a non-conference game.
The Hawks, who improved to 6-2, made just two of 22 from 3-point range in a loss on Tuesday, but hit seven of 12 in the first half and three of five from 3-point range in the second half.
Senior Cory Fava and junior Pat Flanagan were each 3 for 4 from 3-point range as each finished with a team-high 11 points. Fava also finished with a team-high seven rebounds and four assists.
Coast Guard led 20-9 in the opening ten minutes and the Bears led 32-24 with 4:16 left in the opening half before sophomore Matt Grossbard knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers and Roger Williams scored ten of the final 12 points of the half for a 36-34 lead. |

 Senior Adam Radtke had a career-high ten rebounds in the win. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/4/10)--Sophomore Greg Marshall made a pair of free throws with eight seconds left as Coast Guard held on for a 62-59 win over John Jay in the Citizens Bank Camel/Cadet Classic at the Coast Guard Academy.
Coast Guard won both its games in the inaugural Camel/Cadet Classic to improve to 5-3 on the season while John Jay dropped to 4-3.
In the first half, the Bears led by as many as eight at 19-11 with 11:42 left in the first half, but the Bloodhounds used a 14-5 run to take its only lead of the game 25-24 with 3:42 left in the half.
The Bears responded with a 9-2 spurt to take a 33-27 lead into halftime.
Coast Guard took its largest lead of the game 52-40 on a basket by sophomore Jimmy Knudsen with ten minutes remaining. |
