 Jevon James has a career-high 22 points leading the Bears to their third straight win. BOSTON, MASS.—(12/4/08)—Sophomore Jevon James had a career-high 22 points while junior Eric Hudson added a career-high 21 points leading Coast Guard, which shot a season-high 56.3 percent from the field, to its third straight win a 73-60 victory over Wentworth in a non-conference game.
James finished 10 of 13 from the floor and had a team-high nine rebounds. Senior Craig Johnson was also in double figures for the Bears with ten points.
Sophomore Brett Huntley, who had a career-high seven assists, knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to open the game as Coast Guard, which led from start to finish, jumped out to an 8-0 lead with 18:30 left in the first half. |

 Stefan Lewis had a career-high 20 points to lead the Bears past Anna Maria. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/2/08)--Junior Stefan Lewis had a career-high 20 points as he connected on a career-high six 3-pointers and sophomore Brett Huntley added a career-high 17 points leading Coast Guard to an 89-70 win over Anna Maria in a non-conference game.
Lewis, who hit a pair of trifectas in the first three minutes as the Bears jumped out to a 9-0 lead, had 14 of his 20 points in the first half as he connected on four of six from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes and was six for 11 from 3-point range in the game.
Coast Guard (5-2) led 26-16 with 7:45 left in the first half before going on a 14-2 spurt which was started on four straight free throws following a double technical foul, one on each team. The Bears led 40-18 with 5:05 left and took a 55-33 lead into the half. |

 Craig Johnson earned the first NEWMAC Player of the Week honors of the season. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/1/08)--Senior Craig Johnson has been named the first New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s basketball Player of the Week for the 2008-2009 season.
Johnson has had an outstanding start in the first six games of the season with the Bears posting a 4-2 record.
He averaged 25 points and 10.5 rebounds to earn MVP honors and lead Coast Guard to the championship at the Maritime Tournament in Vallejo, California. |

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/30/08)--Senior Craig Johnson had 28 points and season-high’s with 14 rebounds and five assists as Coast Guard had five players score in double figures in a 92-70 win over Albertus Magnus in a non-league game.
Junior Eric Hudson and freshman Theo Jensen each had 15 points while junior Stefan Lewis and sophomore Brett Huntley each added 14 points for Coast Guard (4-2).
Johnson, who was 10 of 12 from the floor and eight for 11 from the line, moved into 5th place on the Coast Guard all-time scoring list with 1,343 points. He passed both Larry Zacher ('89) and Bob Mobley ('79), who each had 1,325 career points.
Huntley, who finished with a career-high 14 points was five for six from the floor, including two for two from 3-point range. He hit back-to-back shots in the first half, the second a 3-pointer with 2:45 left to cap an 8-0 run and give the Bears, their largest lead of the half 46-33. Coast Guard would maintain that advantage with a 52-39 lead at halftime. |
