Men's Basketball - Bears Fall to Wentworth
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/3/09)--Adam Dombrowski had 18 points and 10 rebounds while Sam Herrick had 12 points and 10 rebounds leading Wentworth to a 71-46 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.

Wentworth (2-3) entered the game with 11 three-point field goals total in the first four games (11 of 53), shooting 20.8 percent from 3-point range, but hit 10 of 22 tonight including seven of 16 in the first half.

Coast Guard (3-4) actually scored the first five points of the game as the Leopards were held scoreless until a 3-pointer by Eric Prue with 15:11 left in the first half.

Men's Basketball - Bears Rally From 17 Down, Lose at Buzzer

Jevon James led Coast Guard with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
PAXTON, MASS.--(12/1/09)--Junior De La Hoz hit a three-pointer at the buzzer as Anna Maria picked up its first win of the season with a 57-54 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.

Anna Maria (1-4) scored 20 straight points in the first half, lost the lead in the second half, but De La Hoz scored the AMCATS final seven points as they overcame a five point deficit with 3:58 left. De La Hoz led Anna Maria with 16 points and four assists.

Coast Guard, which trailed 31-15 at halftime, came out in the second half and dominated the first seven plus minutes of play as they outscored Anna Maria 21-5, tying the game 36-36 on a bucket by Eric Hudson with 12:47 left in the game.

Men's Basketball - Bears Fall at Albertus

Jevon James had his third double-double of the season in the loss.
NEW HAVEN, CONN.—(11/29/09)—Sha’Ron Young hit a pair of free throws with 7.8 seconds left and Albertus Magnus made eight of 10 free throws in the final two minutes as the Falcons held off Coast Guard 66-64 in a non-conference game.

Walden St. Juste lead all scorers with 19 points while Ray Askew had 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for Albertus. Byron Reaves finished with 16 points for the Falcons.

Albertus Magnus (2-1) led 64-57 with 35 seconds left before junior Trip Fernandes hit a pair of free throws and senior Stefan Lewis hit a deep three-pointer to cut the lead to 64-62 with 10.2 seconds left.

Senior Eric Hudson scored a layup with under a second left and following a timeout, the Falcons inbounded the ball for the win.

Men's Basketball - Bears Win Castle Classic Championship

Eric Hudson led the Bears with a season-high 19 points and earned tournament MVP honors.
PURCHASE, N.Y.--(11/21/09)--Senior Eric Hudson had a season-high 19 points to go with six rebounds and was named the tournament MVP leading Coast Guard to the Castle Classic Championship beating host Manhattanvile 73-60 in the championship game.

The Bears have won three straight since dropping their season opener to improve to 3-1 overall while Manhattanville suffered its first loss of the season and dropped to 2-1.

Coast Guard which won both games in the Castle Classic 73-60, had another excellent shooting night, hitting 23 of 40 (57.5 percent) while connecting on eight of 17 from three-point range (47.1 percent).

A trio of juniors were also in double figures for the Bears as Jevon James had 16 points and six rebounds, Adam Radtke added 11 points and Trip Fernandes, who was named to the All-tournament team had 10 points and six rebounds, a night after leading the Bears with 17 points in the first round win over Conn. College.
