 Corinne McCormack had 17 kills as Coast Guard advanced to the NEWMAC Semifinals for the seventh straight season. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/30/07)--Senior Corinne McCormack had 17 kills, eight digs and three aces leading defending New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) tournament champion and fourth-seeded Coast Guard to 3-0 (30-16, 30-14, 30-25) win over fifth-seeded Smith in a NEWMAC Tournament quarterfinal match. This was a matchup between the last two schools to win the NEWMAC tournament as Smith won the 2005 championship.
Coast Guard jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first game, Smith scored six of the next eight to pull to within 10-6 before the Bears scored five straight for a 15-6 lead and cruised to the 30-16 win. |

WELLESLEY, MASS.--(10/27/07)--Wellesley closed out its regular season and celebrated Senior Day with a three-game sweep of Coast Guard (30-14, 30-26, 30-25). The win lifts the Blue to 24-6 on the season and 8-1 in NEWMAC competition, which secures for the Blue the #2 seed in the conference tournament. The Bears drop to 20-5 overall and 6-3 in conference, seeding them 4th in the post-season tournament. |

 Megan Durbin and the senior class won their 100th match on Senior Night. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/22/07)--Junior Nicole Gurr had 14 kills and three aces while senior Corinne McCormack had 12 kills and five aces as Coast Guard won its sixth straight beating Clark 3-0 (30-15, 30-15, 30-10) on Senior Night in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
The three Coast Guard seniors, McCormack, Anne Staley and Megan Durbin playing their final regular season home game, won their 100th match with the win giving the class a four-year record of 100-15 for a tremendous .870 winning percentage. |
