Volleyball - Bears Win Bates Invitational; Run Win Streak to 11

Senior Corinne McCormack was named the Most Outstanding Player as the Bears won the Bates Tournament.
LEWISTON, MAINE--(9/27/07)--Senior Corinne McCormack was named the Most Outstanding Player as Coast Guard was the only team to go 4-0 and captured the the nine-team Bates Invitational Championship running its winning streak to 11 straight on the season.

The Bears (12-2) had beaten both Bowdoin and UMass Dartmouth on Friday and then began Saturday by beating Colby 3-1 (30-23, 30-22, 24-30, 30-24) as junior All-America Nicole Gurr had 17 kills, four blocks and two aces while McCormack added 11 kills and five aces.

Volleyball - Bears Run Win Streak to Nine Straight With Two Wins

Nicole Gurr had 32 kills as the Bears won a pair of matches at the Bates Invitational.
LEWISTON, MAINE--(9/28/07)--Junior Nicole Gurr had 18 kills, 12 digs, five aces and three blocks as Coast Guard dropped the first two games, but rallied to win a five-set thriller over Bowdoin 3-2 (28-30, 20-30, 30-27, 30-25, 17-15) to extend its winning streak to eight straight before beating UMass Dartmouth 3-0 (30-15, 30-25, 30-24), the Bears ninth straight win, at the first day of play at the Bates Invitational

In the opening match vs. Bowdoin, junior Mary Bitzer had 16 kills and three blocks, senior Corinne McCormack added 15 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and three aces while freshman Ashley Bullard led the way with 42 assists.

Volleyball - Bears Remain Unbeaten In NEWMAC; Beat Wheaton

Senior Corinne McCormack registered a game-high 15 kills as the Bears won their seventh straight.
NORTON, MASS.--(9/25/07)--Senior Corinne McCormack had a game-high 15 kills while junior Nicole Gurr added 12 kills and 10 digs as Coast Guard ran its winning streak to seven straight matches and 21 consecutive games with a 3-0 (30-22, 30-26, 32-30) win over Wheaton in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

Sophomore Leanna Minton and junior Jeannie Crump collected 15 and 10 digs, respectively, freshman Ashley Bullard had 25 assists, and senior Anne Staley tallied 11 assists for defending NEWMAC champion Coast Guard (8-2, 4-0), which has now won 14 straight NEWMAC matches dating back to season.

Volleyball - Bears Run Winning Streak to Six

Junior Nicole Gurr had 24 kills as the Bears won their sixth straight.
NEWPORT, R.I.--(9/22/07)-- Junior Nicole Gurr had 24 kills and 14 digs leading Coast Guard Academy to its sixth straight win a 3-0 (30-20, 30-21, 30-25) win over Salve Regina in a non-conference matchup.

Senior Corinne McCormack had seven kills, 12 digs and four service aces while freshman setter Ashley Bullard had 36 assists for the Bears (7-2).

Also for Coast Guard, senior Megan Durbin had 15 digs while sophomore Leanna Minton added 14 digs.
