The win marks the 200th coaching victory for Coast Guard head coach Patty Giannattasio who now sports an impressive 200-98 record over ten seasons at the helm. |

 Christine Rostowfske broke the CGA career assists record DANBURY, CONN.--(10/12/06)--Coast Guard, ranked third in New England, rolled to a three-game sweep over Western Connecticut State University at The O’Neill Center Thursday. The Bears, which improved to 13-2 on the season, prevailed, 30-15, 30-19 and 30-16.
Coast Guard, which ran its win streak to nine straight, was led by junior right-side hitter Corinne McCormack, who had eight kills, 23 digs and one service ace.
Rostowfske, who entered the match just one assist shy of the career mark of 3,608 held by Maile Norman (1999-2002) had a strong all-around match with six kills, 34 assists, six digs and a game-high six service aces. She is now the career leader with 3,641 assists. |

CAMBRIDGE, MASS.--(10/10/06)--The U.S. Coast Guard Academy knocked MIT from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 28-30, 32-30, 30-26, 27-30, 15-12 victory in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball match on Tuesday. Formerly the sole possessor of first place in the conference standings, the Engineers (20-3, 5-1 NEWMAC) now share the top spot with the Bears (12-2, 5-1 NEWMAC) and Wellesley College. |
