Courtney Wolf had 11 kills as the Bears won their third straight.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/15/07)--Nicole Gurr had 14 kills, four blocks and four aces while Corinne McCormack had 12 kills, six digs, two blocks and four aces leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win (30-20, 30-19, 30-19) win over Smith in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

Courtney Wolf had 11 kills for the Bears (4-2, 2-0) while Ashley Bullard led the way with 34 assists to go with her five digs.

Volleyball - Gurr Leads Bears to Sweep of JWU

Nicole Gurr led the Bears with 15 kills and 10 digs in the win.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.--(9/13/07)--Junior All-America Nicole Gurr led the way with 15 kills and 10 digs as Coast Guard beat Johnson & Wales 3-0 (30-10, 30-22, 30-28) in a non-conference match at the Harborside Recreation Center.

Senior Anne Staley notched 19 set assists and two blocks while senior Corinne McCormack chipped in with nine kills and five digs in the victory for the Bears (3-2).

Volleyball - Defending Champion Bears Win NEWMAC Opener

Junior Mary Bitzer had a career-high 13 kills as the Bears won their NEWMAC opener.
SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.--(9/11/07)--Junior All-America Nicole Gurr registered 17 kills, nine digs and three blocks while junior Mary Bitzer added a career-high 13 kills to lead the defending New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season and tournament champion, Coast Guard, to a 3-0 (30-15, 31-29, 30-16) win over Mount Holyoke in the NEWMAC opener for both teams.

After breezing to a 30-15 win in the first game, the Bears fought off an aggressive comeback by the hosts to grab a 31-29 triumph in the second game. From there, Coast Guard cruised, taking the third and final game by a score of 30-16.

Volleyball - #25 Bears Split; Beat MMA; Lose to # 23 Stevens
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/8/07)--Coast Guard, ranked 25th nationally, opened its home portion of the schedule by splitting a pair of matches beating rival Merchant Marine 3-0 (30-19, 30-12, 30-21) before falling to #23 Stevens Tech (25-30, 30-23, 30-28, 25-30, 18-16).

In the thrilling second match of the afternoon, the Bears forced a fifth game with a 30-25 win and the Bears jumped out to an 8-5 lead in the decisive game five before the Ducks rallied to tie the match 11-11. The game was tied at 13 and 14 before the Bears took a 15-14 lead and had match point.
