 Juinor Nicole Gurr had 36 kills to lead the Bears to a pair of wins. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/6/07)--Junior Nicole Gurr had 36 kills while senior Corinne McCormack added 34 kills as the Bears swept a pair of matches from Conn. College and Endicott.
Coast Guard (14-3) beat Conn. College 3-1 (30-11, 22-30, 32-30, 30-28) and Endicott 3-1 (30-22, 25-30, 30-18, 30-18).
In the first match of the day vs. Conn. College, McCormack led the way with 20 kills, 14 digs, four aces and four aces while Gurr added 18 kills and 13 digs.
In game one, Coast Guard jumped to 6-1 lead and then 14-5 enroute to the 30-11 win.
Conn. College (12-5) started strong in game two with a 6-0 run to start the game, Coast Guard trailed 23-20 before the Camels won it 30-25. |

SPRINGFIELD, MASS.--(10/2/07)--Paced behind the outstanding efforts of Heidi Yohe and Aylene Ilkson, the Springfield College women's volleyball team picked up a big conference win against Coast Guard in four games on Tuesday evening in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action. The Pride won by the scores of 30-27, 30-28, 25-30, and 36-34. With the win, Springfield now stands at 14-6, 3-2 in league play while the Bears, who had their 11-match winning streak snapped, fall to 12-3, 4-1. Coast Guard also saw its streak of 14 consecutive NEWMAC wins end. |

 Senior Corinne McCormack was named NEWMAC Player of the Week as the Bears won all five matches last week. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/1/07)--Coast Guard Academy senior Corinne McCormack was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Volleyball Player of the Week.
McCormack was voted the Most Outstanding Player as Coast Guard went 4-0 and captured the Bates Invitational Championship. Coast Guard was a perfect 5-0 during the week to run its win streak to 11 straight to improve to 12-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
McCormack, who set the Coast Guard Academy career aces mark over the weekend with 257, had 64 kills, 17 aces, 41 digs and seven blocks during the week.

LEWISTON, MAINE--(9/27/07)--Senior Corinne McCormack was named the Most Outstanding Player as Coast Guard was the only team to go 4-0 and captured the the nine-team Bates Invitational Championship running its winning streak to 11 straight on the season.
The Bears (12-2) had beaten both Bowdoin and UMass Dartmouth on Friday and then began Saturday by beating Colby 3-1 (30-23, 30-22, 24-30, 30-24) as junior All-America Nicole Gurr had 17 kills, four blocks and two aces while McCormack added 11 kills and five aces. |
