 All-America co-captain Nicole Gurr and the Bears will look to earn a seventh straight postseason berth in 2008. Coast Guard will try to make it a lucky seven in the 2008 season as the Bears look to earn their seventh straight trip to postseason play.
Last year, Coast Guard was 22-7 overall and 6-3 in the tough New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament.
The Bears, who advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament in 2006, must replace one of the best players in program history, Corinne McCormack, who led the Bears to a 102-18 mark over the past four years. |

 Nicole Gurr and Corinne McCormack were both named to the honorable mention All-America team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/16/07)--Coast Guard Academy senior Corinne McCormack and junior Nicole Gurr were named honorable mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
McCormack, the 2004 AVCA National Rookie of the Year, earns AVCA honorable mention All-America honors for the second time, she was also named to the team in 2005. Corinne earned AVCA All-region honors this season for the fourth straight season and is the only player in the nation this season to be named to the team four straight seasons. Corinne is second all-time at the Academy with 1,528 kills is second in the NEWMAC this season with 4.06 kills per game while totaling 365 on the year. |

WALTHAM, MASS.--(11/10/07)--Michelle Doody had 14 kills leading third-seeded Colby-Sawyer to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-23, 30-18) win over second-seeded Coast Guard in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III New England tournament.
