The Coast Guard volleyball team will host a Volleyball Alumni Weekend on March 10th and 11th in conjunctiion with the Coast Guard Volleyball tournament.
ALUMNI WEEKEND FLYER
Coast Guard won the ECAC New England Division III Championship, won a share of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season championship and finished the season with a 26-6 record.
The weekend festivities will begin on Saturday, March 10th with an Alumni and Friends Social at Mr. G’s at 8 p.m. The alumni match will take place on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. and the weekend will conclude with an alumni dinner at 5 p.m. in Roland Hall. |

 Coast Guard won its fourth ECAC Championship in the last ten years. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/12/11)--Tournament Most Outstanding Player Karen Matic had a career-high 17 kills to go with 12 digs and a team-high 25 assists leading top-seeded Coast Guard to the ECAC Division III New England Championship with a 3-1 win over second-seeded Plymouth State.
Coast Guard, which completed the season with a perfect 13-0 record at home, won its fourth ECAC Championship and second in three years. The Bears also won the ECAC Championship in 2002, 2005 and 2009. The Bears beat Plymouth State 3-1 in the 2009 ECAC Championship game in Plymouth, New Hampshire.
The Bears, who finish the season 26-6, won by game scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18. Plymouth State, playing in its third ECAC Championship game in the last four seasons, finished 25-11. The Panthers won the 2008 ECAC Championship. |

 LeighAnne Brazier had six kills and six blocks in the semifinal win. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/12/11)--Junior Keriann Mason had a match-high 11 kills and a team-high eight digs while sophomore Kelsey DePorto had ten kills and a match-high eight blocks leading top-seeded Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over fourth-seeded Keene State in the semifinals of the ECAC Division III New England Volleyball Championship.
Coast Guard improved to a perfect 12-0 at home this season and 25-6 overall winning by game scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-23. Keene State, the defending ECAC New England champions, finish the season 19-14.
The top-seeded Bears will play for the championship at 5:00 today.
The Bears jumped out to a 9-2 edge in the opening game and cruised to the 25-14 win. |

 Keriann Mason was part of a balanced Coast Guard attack as the Bears won 3-0. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/9/11)--Juniors Catherine Walker, Keriann Mason and sophomore Kelsey DePorto each had seven kills as top-seeded Coast Guard used a balanced attack to advance to the ECAC Division III Volleyball Championship semifinals with a 3-0 win over eighth-seeded Framingham State in a first round match.
Coast Guard, which improved to a perfect 11-0 at home this season, won by game scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-13 to improve to 24-6 overall while Framingham State finishes the season 19-14.
The Bears will now host the semifinals and championship on Saturday. Coast Guard will take on fourth-seeded Keene State at 11:00 a.m. #2 Plymouth State will take on #3 Endicott in the second semifinal that will be played at 2:00 p.m. The championship match will be played at 5 p.m. |
