Women's Soccer - Smith Edges Bears 1-0
NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(10/19/10)--Senior Bryce Bludevich grabbed the game's only goal in the 40th minute to lead Smtih to a 1-0 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Playing on a chilly afternoon, the Pioneers (3-9-1, 1-5-1 NEWMAC) grabbed their first conference win of the season in defeating the Bears (5-8, 1-6 NEWMAC) for the third time in four years.

Smith nearly grabbed the lead in the 35th minute when Lucie March's shot was spilled by Coast Guard goalie Mary Mills, but Mills recovered to stop the followup attempt from Elizabeth Jarrett.

Women's Soccer - Babson Beats Bears 3-1

Shannah Shelton gave the Bears a 1-0 lead in the first half.
BABSON PARK, MASS.--(10/16/10)--Sophomore Kelly Hanley recorded one goal and two assists to help the Babson College women’s soccer team rally from an early 1-0 deficit and claim a 3-1 victory over the visiting United States Coast Guard Academy in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference matchup at Hartwell-Rogers Field.

With the win, the first-place Beavers improved to 10-3-1 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 5-0-1, while Coast Guard dipped to 5-7-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the NEWMAC.

Coast Guard struck first when junior Shannah Shelton gathered a rebound of freshman Rachel Deschene’s shot from the right side and fired a blast into the lower left corner just 2:24 into the contest.

Women's Soccer - Bears Fall in Double OT

Mary Mills had a season-high tying 16 saves in the loss.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/9/10)--Sophomore Megan Turchi scored with 1:19 left in double overtime lifting Wellesley to a 2-1 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Wellesley broke the scoreless game on a goal by freshman Lena Cardoso in the 61st minute.

Coast Guard rallied late as freshman Cierra Collins found the back of the net with 12:03 left in regulation. Junior Shannah Shelton assisted on the goal, her team-high fourth, for the Bears.

Women's Soccer - Bears Drop 2-1 Decision at Mt. Holyoke

Angela Ingram scored her team-high fourth goal of the season in the loss.
SOUTH HADLEY, MASS.--(10/5/10)--Led by forwards Jacquelyn Archibald and Margaret Hanmer, Mount Holyoke picked up a 2-1 win over the Coast Guard in a NEWMAC contest.

With their first victory of the 2010 campaign, the Lyons improved to 1-2-1 NEWMAC. Coast Guard is now 5-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Both sides went scoreless until the 50th minute, when Archibald took a long feed from sophomore midfielder Veronica Farmer, broke in alone and beat Coast Guard junior goalkeeper Mary Mills short side.
