Women's Soccer - Bears Run Win Streak to Three; Blank Mitchell

NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/14/11)--Three different players scored as host Coast Guard won its third straight game for the first time in eight years with a 3-0 win over Mitchell in a non-conference game between the crosstown rivals.

The Bears improve to 3-1 while Mitchell drops to 1-1 on the young season. The 3-1 record is the second best start in school history. Coast Guard started 4-1 in 2000, the first year of the women’s soccer program.

Coast Guard scored the only goal of the first half in the 30th minute when freshman Holly Moore scored her first career goal. The ball ricocheted off of Moore and past Mitchell goal keeper Kaylee Woodford.

Women's Soccer - Bears Blank NY Maritime 6-0

Shannah Shelton had a goal and an assist in the win.
THROGGS NECK, N.Y.--(9/9/11)--Freshman Elyse Bobczynski scored the first two goals of her career and the Bears had five different goal scorers as Coast Guard beat New York Maritime 6-0 in a non-conference game.

Bobczynski scored the only goal the Bears would need in the ninth minute with classmate Holly Moore assisting, her team-high third of the season. Bobczynski gave the Bears a 2-0 lead with a goal in the 16th minute with senior Shannah Shelton assisting.

Shelton increased the lead to 3-0 on a free kick from 25 yards away in the 24th minute before freshman Brittany Zirulinick scored her first career goal on a breakaway with just two seconds left in the first half for a 4-0 edge at the break. Junior Kelsey Freeman assisted on the final goal of the half for Coast Guard.

Women's Soccer - Mundy's First Career Goal Leads Bears to Win

Julia Mundy had the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/6/11)--Freshman Julia Mundy scored the first goal of her career in the 83rd minute while classmate Holly Moore assisted on both Coast Guard goals leading the Bears to a 2-1 win over Johnson & Wales in a non-conference game played in a constant rainfall from start to finish.

Coast Guard picked up its first win of the season and evened its record at 1-1 while the Wildcats dropped their third straight one goal game to start the season, dropping to 0-3. It was the Bears first win over Johnson & Wales in four all-time meetings.

Senior Shannah Shelton got the Bears on the board in the eighth minute with a blast into the upper left corner with Moore earning her first career assist on the goal.

Women's Soccer - Bears Drop Season Opener
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/1/11)--Freshman Rebecca Slivinsky made her collegiate debut a memorable one as she scored the only goal of the game leading Albertus Magnus to a season-opening 1-0 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference game.

Slivinsky took a pass from sophomore Meghan Loughman and found the back of the net with four minutes left in the first half.

Albertus had four of its five shots in the first half while Coast Guard had all four of its shots in the second half.
