 Brett Godiksen scored three goals in the second half as the Bears cruised past Mitchell. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/14/11)--Senior Brett Godiksen had his first career hat trick, all in the second half, leading host Coast Guard to a 5-0 win over crosstown rival Mitchell in a non-conference game.
Godiksen, who entered the season with just one career goal, increased his team-leading total to five this season.
Coast Guard which is now a perfect 7-0 vs. Mitchell in the all-time series improves to 3-1 on the season while the Mariners saw their three-game unbeaten streak to start the season snapped as they fell to 2-1-1.
The Bears, who scored just 12 goals in 17 games last season, have already found the back of the net ten times in the 2011 season. |

KINGS POINT, N.Y.--(9/10/11)--Freshman midfielder Abboss Rezaie scored in the 85th minute to cap a second-half rally for Merchant Marine, which recorded a 2-1 win over archrival Coast Guard
Rezaie, who came on as a substitute only a minute prior, latched onto a through ball from junior midfielder Ryan Silveira before he dribbled through the left side and unleashed a shot past junior goalkeeper Will Leffler to break a 1-1 deadlock at Tomb Field.
The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (3-1) hasn’t lost to Coast Guard (2-1) in the annual soccer battle since 1999. |

 Robert Copeland registered his first career goal in the win. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(9/7/11)--Senior Brett Godiksen scored a goal and assisted on another leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over Johnson & Wales in a non-conference game.
Godiksen scored in the 20th minute to open the scoring, the Bears would lead 1-0 at halftime.
Sophomore Robert Copeland tallied his first career goal with Godiksen assisting in the 60th minute to give the Bears a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore John Epperly closed the scoring in the 76th minute with classmate Joe Bodzewski registering his first career assist. |

 Brett Godiksen scored the only goal of the game in the season opening win. BUZZARDS BAY, MASS.--(9/2/11)--Senior Brett Godiksen’s goal in the 13th minute of play lifted Coast Guard to a 1-0 non-league win over Massachusetts Maritime in the season opener for both schools Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.
After a strong start by the host side, Coast Guard settled down and started to dictate the game. Off a free kick served by sophomore Kyle Grell into the box, Godiksen scored off a feed from senior Kevin Noll.
The Bears continued to control play and after a beautiful combination between Godiksen and freshman Tradd Lovern, sophomore Matt Epperly looked to have made it 2-0. However, he was deemed off sides. |
