 Nick Devine scored a pair of goals leading the Bears to a 3-0 win over New York Maritime. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/26/09)--Junior Nick Devine scored a pair of goals, both assisted by sophomore Brett Godiksen leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over New York Maritime in a non-conference game between the two schools.
Devine broke a scoreless tie just 3:43 into the second half to give the Bears a 1-0 lead before sophomore Kevin Noll increased the lead to 2-0 on a goal less than four minutes later as senior Jacob Larsen assisted.
Godiksen found Devine again in the 86th minute to close the scoring. Godiksen, who now has a team-leading nine assists, hit the crossbar himself twice in the first half, the two best scoring chances for either team in the first 45 minutes. |

 Nick Devine scored the game winner with 1:29 left in regulation. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/24/09)--Junior Nick Devine scored with 1:29 left in regulation leading Coast Guard to a 2-1 win over Clark in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Sophomore Anthony Walker assisted on Devine’s game winner, his team-high seventh goal of the year.
Clark (9-5-1, 1-4-1) scored the only goal of the first half when senior John Machado found the back of the net in the 31st minutes.
Coast Guard (6-9, 2-3) tied the game with 10:44 left in regulation off a corner kick as sophomore Brett Godiksen fed senior Jacob Larsen. It was Godiksen’s team-high seven assist of the season. |

 Brett Godiksen scored his first collegiate goal, the Bears only goal, in the loss to Eastern Connecticut. WILLIMANTIC, CONN.--(10/21/09)--In a rematch of last year’s ECAC New England Division III Tournament championship game won by Coast Guard, 1-0, at New London, Eastern, ranked 8th in New England, scored twice in the first 16 minutes to defeat Coast Guard 3-1 at home after shutout losses the last four times the teams had met at Eastern.
Maxim Fantl scored his 11th goal of the year in the 10th minute and Sean Capezzone later made it 2-0 five minutes into the second half with his second career goal – first since 2006. Aaron Smiles had his team-leading fifth and sixth assists of the season, both coming when he took corner kicks to set up freshman Dan Fish’s to make it 2-0 in the 16th minute and to set up Capezzone’s goal.
Sophomore Brett Godiksen scored his first collegiate goal, the only Coast Guard goal, in the 87 minute.
Eastern outshot Coast Guard 22-5 in winning its sixth home game of the year against a loss and tie. Coast Guard lost its seventh straight on the road since an opening win. |

 Frank Hackett's goal in the 77th minute lifted the Bears to a win over MIT. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/17/09)--Junior Frank Hackett scored in the 77th minute to break a 1-1 tie and lead Coast Guard to a 2-1 win over MIT in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
The Bears (5-8, 1-3) snap a three-game losing streak and win their first conference game of the season. MIT drops to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the NEWMAC.
Junior Matt Zangle gave Coast Guard an early 1-0 lead just 4:17 into the match with sophomore Brett Godiksen assisting, that was the only goal in the first half. |
