Senior Dave O'Brien, a first team All-conference selection last season, and the Bears look to continue their winning ways in 2008. After back-to-back ECAC tournament appearances in 2006 and 2007, the 2008 Coast Guard men’s soccer team will look to keep up its winning ways. The Bears, who have earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament in four of the last five years, return a host of starters and reserves who saw significant playing time on a team which finished 9-7-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). All seven losses last season were by one goal.
With so many players with game experience returning, the Bears hope to improve upon their 6th place finish in the difficult NEWMAC. The conference was so competitive last season, that entering the final game of the season, the Bears could have finished as high as third place. |
